It's a simple item that's handy when I need to download files. Every computer desk drawer should include one.
Not a day goes by when this isn't put to use. It still works just fine after a year of using it. Very useful if your computer doesn't have media ports.
I received this as a free bonus when purchasing a microSD 8gb card for my phone. It is great to have for those times you're at a computer with no card reader built in. Since then, I upgraded phones, and the new phone came with a larger card. So I'm using the 8gb card in this device basically for a thumb drive, and I've had no problems with it. It is not very fast, though, so if you need a super quick data transfer option, this probably isn't it. You do need the adapater for the smaller formats, but if you use the smaller formats, you should have those anyway.
I got these as an extra with an order for SD memory cards. We received them promptly and used to download photos from my new camera. It was very fast and is convenient to carry along on trips.
Buyer Beware. I have sent them numerous emails with no response as to my refund. Not fun. There is NO customer service if you have to return an item for refund. I may never buy from amazon.com if they continue to keep sellers like this on their site. I was ripped off for the first time by this company with no resolution. Digital Media Source will not issue you a refund if you return this item. They either ignore your emails or play games with you.
I returned an item to this company back in Sept. 2009 and as of today, November 18, 2009, I still have no credit on my credit card. I have bought LOTS of items from Amazon.com over the past 20 years and this is the first company that has ever ripped me off. I thought you should be warned.
